Recycled Steel Dog Food Storage Bins

I have been eyeing these Bon Chien dog food storage bins by Harry Barker for a while now. I put it off because the price seemed a little steep for me. I finally broke down and bought one and I couldn’t be more pleased. It is very nice quality, attractive, recycled, and recyclable.

I give my dog high quality organic USA made dog food, because I want her to live a long and healthy life. I also want her to eat the same quality level of food that I eat. I don’t store my food in plastic containers, so why should I do that with hers? These storage bins are definitely worth the investment.

“Bon Chien, Bon Appetit” Harry Barker food storage bins come in 3 colors and 3 sizes, and they also offer matching dog treat canisters and stoneware food bowls! These sturdy bins are made of recycled steel and are recyclable as well, but they will remain strong and good-looking for many years. Includes a handy aluminum scoop. Vive le Bon Chien! Safety 1st Natures Next Bamboo Gate

I needed a baby gate to keep my dog in a certain area when I am out. On one end of the hall I have a metal gate with a door. On the other end of the hall is a door to a room and I am unable to mount a similar metal gate there. So, I needed to find a pressure mounted gate. You might think “why don’t you just close that door?” The reason I like 2 gates on each end is because the air flow is better and my dog can stay cool in hot weather.

I decided to get the Safety 1st Natures Next Bamboo Gate. It is similar to those cheap plastic ones, but much better quality and it’s eco-friendly.

The Safety 1st® Nature Next™ Bamboo Gate is an eco-conscious way to restrict access between rooms. Made from durable bamboo, a renewable resource, the gate also features 100% recycled plastic panels. The gate can be used in doorways and openings anywhere from 28 to 42 inches wide where it provides a barrier that is 24 inches tall. Pressure mounting ensures that this gate is easy to install, and also allows you to easily move it between rooms.

I really like this gate and would recommend it instead of the cheap, plastic ones. This gate looks great and the quality is nice.

Chews Your Cause

I was at the pet store and I always scope for eco-friendly dog toys & products. I was looking for a treat dispensing toy and found one made by Dura Doggie™ designs. I was impressed because it is eco-friendly, recyclable, non-toxic, donates to charities, FDA approved, and made in the USA. My dog loved her new pink ball, which donates 20% of the profits towards fighting Breast Cancer. I’m sure if she could talk, then she would appreciate my efforts.

Here is a little more info from their site:

Part of Dura Doggie’s “Chews Your Cause” Campaign, the Nebo Ball comes in Pink, Blue, Green, and Orange colors. Based on the color you “chews,” we will donate 20% of our profits towards one of four charitable causes: fighting breast cancer, saving animals, saving the planet, or fighting diabetes. We invite you to have fun and support these causes at the same time!

PetPeePee

The name makes me laugh, but it describes what it is used for. PetPeePee Product is designed to remove dog & cat urine odor using Naturally Blended Minerals from the Dead Sea that are odor-free, pet friendly, eco-friendly & organic. It does not contain any deodorizers, detergents or enzymes that can mask urine odor. It is specifically designed for small and fresh pet accidents.

My dog doesn’t pee indoors, so I wasn’t able to test this product at home. Although, my office is dog friendly and there are occasional pee pee accidents from other dogs. I took PetPeePee to work to try it out. There weren’t any fresh stains, so I tested it on a couple of older stains. It worked rather well and removed the majority of the stain. I know this product is for fresh stains, but those don’t happen quiet often enough. From the results that I got, I could tell that this product is very powerful, and I will definitely keep it around for the next accident that may occur. If your pet has indoor accidents, then I recommend that you try PetPeePee. Check out the photos below from my tests.

Recycled Juice Pouches

I’ve seen & own similar juice pouch products, although I really love how creative Laura Locke is with her LL Design products.

Laura & her son started collecting juice pouches from the kids at his school during lunch. They wanted to make placemats as gifts for family and friends and it soon turned into a passion of hers. Now, in addition to place mats, pencil pouches, and lunch bags, she makes one of a kind bags and purses that are fun and stylish. She uses thrift store finds and reuses old items, so she never makes the same bag twice. Each bag is considered a work of art.

She is passionate about recycling plastic juice pouches. She even has tutorials on her blog that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to make your own bags. Her products explore the world of art, design, and recycling. Check out her blog, Etsy store, and on Facebook.

Dog Gone Smart™ dog bed

I purchased two of these dog beds and my dog loves them! They are so easy to take care of and I don’t have to wash them as often. These fabrics are non-toxic, pet safe, environmentally friendly and extremely resistant to liquids, dirt, grime, and coat oil. I’ve had mine for 2 years and they are still going strong. They are a little expensive, but I bought them on sale. If you want a bed that will last for a long time and it is super comfortable, then I recommend these beds.

Eco Dog Collar review

My dog is a rescue and she’s skittish. A few months ago, we were walking and she heard another dog barking then froze still. I pulled and she backed right out of her collar and ran down the middle of the street! I ran after her and luckily one of my neighbors saw her and tried to catch her. She turned around and ran back into my arms. That is one of every dog owner’s worst fears!

I’ve tried using a harness, and she still manages to squirm out of it. My friend suggested getting a slip collar. I found the ECO Martingale Dog Collar online and decided to try it. It is safer than a traditional choke collar because it offers limited closure. I’ve been using it for a few months and I love it! It hangs loose when we are at home, and only tightens when she pulls on the leash. The bonus is, it’s made of recycled milk cartons! I feel it is soft and sturdy. I tried the leash that goes with it and I don’t recommend it. It gets twisted and never straightens out. If you are looking for a solution for a dog that pulls, I highly recommend the ECO Martingale Dog Collar.
