All Wild Co. Organic Baby Linens & Clothing

I’ve found some many wonderful shops on etsy, and I would like to help promote them. Supporting small businesses is essential, as well as shopping local. Since shopping local can be challenging at times, it is good to know that there are wonderful alternatives out there like etsy.

This shop is called the Green Thread Shop. It features a line of organic baby linens and clothing called All Wild Co. These designs are unique, stylish, and fun.

“All Wild Co. creates organic baby linens and apparel. They take great care in producing each item – we hand-dye, hand-print and appliqué to create original designs. Only high quality organic fabrics are used, which are free from pesticides, water-based inks for printing and low-impact dyes for dyeing.”

Safety 1st Natures Next Bamboo Gate

I needed a baby gate to keep my dog in a certain area when I am out. On one end of the hall I have a metal gate with a door. On the other end of the hall is a door to a room and I am unable to mount a similar metal gate there. So, I needed to find a pressure mounted gate. You might think “why don’t you just close that door?” The reason I like 2 gates on each end is because the air flow is better and my dog can stay cool in hot weather.

I decided to get the Safety 1st Natures Next Bamboo Gate. It is similar to those cheap plastic ones, but much better quality and it’s eco-friendly.

The Safety 1st® Nature Next™ Bamboo Gate is an eco-conscious way to restrict access between rooms. Made from durable bamboo, a renewable resource, the gate also features 100% recycled plastic panels. The gate can be used in doorways and openings anywhere from 28 to 42 inches wide where it provides a barrier that is 24 inches tall. Pressure mounting ensures that this gate is easy to install, and also allows you to easily move it between rooms.

I really like this gate and would recommend it instead of the cheap, plastic ones. This gate looks great and the quality is nice.

Greenfeet: The Planet’s Homestore

The Greenfeet Homestore has been in business for 14 years and I have been shopping with them for several years. They were the first company I discovered online back when eco-friendly products weren’t as accessible as they are today. I still shop with them, because they carry several items that are still hard to find.

Greenfeet sells Reusables, Kitchen, Home, Outdoor, Body, Eat and Drink items. The section that I really like is Home: Conservation. There are several items here that can help you reduce your water usage and climate control.

I do recommend shopping local as much as possible, but for those rare items, I suggest shopping with a company that cares about the planet. They use eco-friendly packaging and try to ship in the most sustainable way possible. Check out their store: http://www.greenfeet.com

Shatter Resistant Glass Baby Bottle

These days we have learned that BPA (Bisphenol A) from plastic can be harmful to our health. It leaches chemicals and it can cause birth defects!

I discovered this company called 5 Phases at the Go Green Expo last month. The mom who started the company did so, because her baby was diagnosed with a birth defect. After thorough research of BPA and phthalates she knew she needed to act fast and start this company. She didn’t want other mothers to go through this and created a shatter resistant glass baby bottle.

Their unique patented design helps glass resist shattering but will contain the glass if shattering should occur. The outer sleeve is made of plastic with a glass insert and is BPA, phthalate, and PVC free. The glass inserts are interchangeable and they use vented silicone nipples. These bottles are very affordable and convenient. Isn’t your baby’s health worth it? Check out the 5 phases website for more info.
