Do you ever wonder what to do with used wine & champagne corks? I usually save them, because I never really knew what to do with them. Cork is a renewable, recyclable material that doesn’t belong in our landfills. I discovered that you can return corks to Whole Foods Market who has partnered with Cork ReHarvest in a cork recycling program so that shoppers can recycle their natural wine corks.
“Cork recycling helps to reduce demand placed on cork plantations while maintaining the delicate ecosystem of the Mediterranean forests and helps thousands of producers maintain a sustainable income to support their families.”

I first heard about OriginOil last weekend after The Big Fix movie premiere. I am extremely interested in alternatives to petroleum and want to keep an eye on this company. Having a renewable source of energy is viable for our futures.
Here is some info about OriginOil:
“OriginOil helps algae growers extract oil from algae for commercial fuels, chemicals and foods. Our breakthrough technology efficiently dewaters and breaks down algae for its useful products, overcoming one of the greatest challenges in making algae a viable replacement for petroleum.”
Amara Gold Everlasting is an eco-friendly company that makes beautiful fine gold & silver jewelry without disturbing a single meter of the earth. The Amara fine jewelry collection is 100% renewed which is created using a carefully crafted recycling process.
I purchased the Boho Bead Chain earrings and they are superb quality. The attention to detail is apparent to every component including the back of the earrings. These earrings are very elegant with a bohemian style and contemporary flare.
The designers at Amara Gold Everlasting uses various colors of recycled precious gold & silver in multi, rose, white gold, and yellow gold. They make bracelets, charms, earrings, necklaces, and rings. This jewelry is gorgeous for special occasions or for someone special. Look fabulous and feel great about it.
Materials used in commercial carpet or rugs can cause health and environmental concerns. According to the EPA, chemicals in carpet can be a potential risk to reduce indoor air quality because of the emissions and VOC’s from the adhesives used in carpeting. The most common adhesive is Polypropylene which can cause health issues.
Choosing 100% Natural rugs like wool, jute, hemp, cotton, sisal, sea grass, etc… could ensure better air quality and reduce the risk of exposure to chemicals. Also, choose carpeting with natural rubber adhesive.
Natural fiber carpets and rugs may not be as soft or cushy as some synthetic carpeting. If you are just protecting the floor, then isn’t it worth it to live in a healthy environment?

I have seen Eco-Products compostable cups and containers at several restaurants. I generally bring my own reusable products, but most people don’t. That’s why I like it when businesses offer a more eco-friendly option.
Eco-Products have been around for 20 years. That is awesome! Nearly all of their products are made with renewable resources, reclaimed materials, or recycled content materials instead of oil. They make a cup “Made from 100% Compostable Corn,” that looks and feels like plastic. It’s just as strong and durable, and it can be composted after use. That is just one example of their products.
If you own a food service business and would like to reduce your carbon footprint, then please consider switching to Eco-Products. It would be great for you, your customers, and the planet!
I love the environmentally friendly products by If You Care. I picked up a pair of reusable Household Gloves that are made from FSC Ethically Sourced Latex. They are just as durable as regular household gloves, and they are eco-friendly.
If You Care Household Gloves are made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified latex, i.e. the natural rubber is sourced from a responsibly managed plantation. Furthermore, the rubber tappers, who cut the bark to get the raw material flowing, have received a fair trade premium, and it is their decision how to spend their extra income. If You Care Household Gloves – good for nature, good for people.
