These bamboo to go utensils are great to toss in your bag and take everywhere. Using reusable utensils help you reduce your ecological footprint. Enjoy eating with natural utensils made of bamboo, a highly durable and sustainable resource that can be grown and harvested sustainably. Disposable plastic cutlery feeds the landfill and is harmful to the environment. Bring your own utensils and create a positive impact to our global community.
The Great Los Angeles River Clean Up and Day of Service
Join Friends of the Los Angeles River this Saturday, April 30th, for the LA River’s Day of Service.
There will be 14 different locations to choose from. Help clean up the river!
Also, EnrichLA is also looking for volunteers to hand out stainless steel water bottles at 2 of the locations:

By using 100% recycled glass products you are supporting recycling and reducing your impact on the environment. Recycled glassware uses about one-third less energy than glass made from raw materials. By using recycled glass you are reducing air pollution. Recycling also reduces the volume of waste in landfills. Glass is made from sand, soda ash, and limestone; which are non-toxic and naturally occurring raw materials.
eco cooler
Next time you need a cooler, definitely do not opt for Styrofoam! I’ve had this eco cooler by Sublime Co. for a few years and I truly love it. It’s nice because it’s soft and easy to store when not in use. It is extremely durable, and has an adjustable strap for easy handling.
This recycled cooler fabric is made from next generation post-consumer recycled PET fabric premium weave 100% recycled webbing superior cooling high density recycled closed cell foam with EVA bottoms Interior seamless liner is environmentally friendly – PVC free, lead free, AZO free and toxic free front zippered pocket compartment with cooler lining Top opening features premium SBS™ zippers with micro pulls top carry handle adjustable padded shoulder strap dual side pockets with expandable micro mesh and integrated shoulder straps.
English Retreads
I was very impressed with my English Retreads handbag. The quality is extremely nice and very sleek. When I first received the handbag it had a very strong rubber smell. After it aired out then the smell went away. English Retreads makes very stylish, eco-friendly handbags and accessories. They re-purpose inner tubes collected from local truck stops. Their products are cruelty-free, vegan, socially and environmentally conscious, unique and have a low impact on the environment. They are made in Boulder, Colorado. These bags are very nice and you should check them.

Eco-Napkins by Stacy
These cloth napkins are great! I stopped using paper napkins & paper towels over a year ago. At first it seemed difficult, but now I don’t miss them at all. Eco-Napkins are well made and there are so many fun patterns to choose from. They are a generous size and are very affordable.
Eco-Napkins are 100% cotton and meant to be used in place of paper napkins. You get them dirty (sometimes they last for several uses) and then you just throw them in the wash with eco friendly soap.
Stacy hand makes over 500 different patterns and print themes. Eco-Napkins look creative, fun and Earth conscious on the kitchen table!
After the Go Green Expo
On Saturday, April 16, 2011, I attended the Go Green Expo in Los Angeles. This was my second year in a row. This year I watched the two Keynote speakers: Ed Begley Jr. and Captain Paul Watson.
Ed Begley Jr. has been helping the environment since 1970. He had an electric car in 1970 and attended the first Earth Day. If you haven’t seen his show “Living with Ed” then you should check it out. It is very entertaining and also great to see the things he’s done. He is considered an environmental leader and role model for everyone.
Captain Paul Watson is a Canadian animal rights and environmental activist, who founded and is president of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a direct action group devoted to marine conservation. He is well known for his television show “Whale Wars.” He is truly passionate and extremely dedicated.
The Go Green Expo has several environmentally friendly goods & services for use in modern everyday living. If you have the opportunity to attend in your city, then you should check it out.

Go anywhere wine glass
If you decide to drink wine in the park or at an outdoor concert, then why would you drink good wine from bad glasses? Govino are wonderful glasses that are made from a food-safe, BPA-free polymer, which reflects a wine’s color and aromatics much like crystal. It is recyclable, but better yet it is reusable. They even have a built in groove to place your thumb in. These are super convenient and shatterproof and cost around $12.95 for a set of four. You can order them online or get them at your local wine shop.
EcoDry
I needed a new hair dryer and decided to try the Conair EcoDry Styler. It is small and I was surprised at how quickly it dried my hair. It is compact and very powerful. The 1400-watt EcoDry Styler uses 25% less energy while still providing the same efficiency as an 1875-watt dryer!
Packaging is 100% post-consumer recyclable material, and uses all soy-based inks, up to 64% less plastic and less packaging material. The smaller dryer and packaging size increase shipping and material efficiencies by up to 33%. I haven’t tried any other eco-friendly hair dryers, so I couldn’t compare. For the price, efficiency, and size, it is perfect!
